Magnets in the fashion industry and their advantages

Currently and increasingly magnets are used in various sectors and industries, one of the most demanded is found in the fashion industry for its great applications as clasps and fasteners. In this industry, we can see them more and more frequently, either in replacement of traditional buttons, clothing fasteners, bags, or jewelry.

Magnets have a decorative function, the union of neodymium balls or magnetic balls for example can be used to create bracelets and chains offering greater magnetic strength.

On the one hand, they can be used for accessories such as:

• Magnetic earrings: the handling of neodymium magnets, in this application, facilitates the union between the bottom and the back of the earring, thus preventing it from coming off and getting lost.
• Brooches for bracelets or necklaces: the magnets facilitate the use, and in this way, the opening and closing are produced in a more immediate way. Neodymium beads can be put together to create chains and bracelets.
• Magnetic bracelets: which have several advantages such as: improve circulation, act as an analgesic, reduce inflammation, improve sleep...

On the other hand, if we go to the textile sector, magnets are increasingly present in clothing stores and even in fashion shows.

In fashion shows, they make it much easier to change clothes as long as the quality of the clothes is resistant to the force used by the magnet, allowing us to change clothes in a short period of time. Likewise, they are used to replace buttons and zippers. If we want the insertion of the magnet to resist the movement of our daily actions, the neodymium magnet is the most suitable.

Traditional neodymium magnets begin to lose their magnetism at around 176ºF, while most hair dryers or irons reach 130ºF while a typical load can exceed 170ºF. If the temperature is maintained over a long period of time, the magnets can lose strength and become demagnetized. However, the heat is not hindered by a Zinc coating or plastic cover.
